Some of our products are large (1GB+) and we prefer to serve the links in split zip files for 2 reasons,

+ Some regions of the world still has funky internet and bandwidth limits.

+ It is easier and secure to handle smaller product parts for our servers.

Unfortunately, the standard unzipping application found on Windows and Mac platforms can’t unzip the split files always without a problem. Especially some windows users have problems with them. Luckily there is free software that we tested for both platforms that work like a charm and unzip our biggy libraries. Before trying to open make sure:

+ Make sure you download all of the split files associated with your product BEFORE attempting to unzip your file

+ Unzip the first split zip and the rest will unzip into a single folder. Most of the time this is the file that ends in .001 or zip.

Now use tools below if you have problems unzipping:

For windows

Recommended Tool: 7-Zip Utility
What is it?: A free open source software that is simple to use and you don’t need to register or pay for 7-Zip.

To unzip the your split zipped library with the 7-Zip Utility, you can right-click on the first file “.zip.001”, select the 7-Zip menu, and then choose one of the “extract” options.

For mac:

Recommended Tool: The Unarchiver or Keka
What is it?: A free software available from the App Store for Mac OSX computers as well iOS mobile devices.
To unzip the your split zipped library with The Unarchiver, you can right-click on the first file “.zip.001”, hover over “Open With” and select The Unarchiver and it will automatically begin unzipping.

We thank developers for this non-sense confusion, hope this article helps.
